Experience the essence of Scotland with our limited-edition tartans.
Meticulously woven in the heart of Scotland from 100% lambswool, each design draws from the colours and textures of the Scottish landscape. Every hue was first developed by Araminta through her natural dyeing process, creating palettes that are truly unique. These timeless textiles are crafted to be versatile and enduring, celebrating Scotland’s weaving heritage while bringing lasting beauty and warmth to both home and wardrobe. Inspired by Scotland, Designed in Scotland, Made in Scotland.
We are delighted to unveil two brand new tartan designs that join the Araminta Campbell family – each one deeply rooted in Scotland’s landscapes and in Araminta’s own story. Inspired by places that hold personal meaning, both tartans capture not just colours and textures, but the essence of moments spent within these landscapes. Woven into their design is memory, heritage, and a reverence for nature.
The West Coast of Scotland holds a special place in Araminta’s heart – especially the shoreline, where cream-white sands meet ancient grey rocks, and the turquoise sea glimmers under shifting skies. It is a place of calm, clarity, and quiet power. The West Coast Waters tartan captures this coastal magic.
Soft cream evokes the untouched beaches, cool grey reflects weathered shoreline rocks, and vibrant turquoise mirrors the sea’s ever-changing hues, shifting with the light and shaped by the rhythm of its gentle waves. Flecks of warm golden orange are drawn from the lichen that clings to the rocks along the shore.
Evoking the spirit of Scotland’s West Coast, this tartan brings together a bespoke palette of Araminta Campbell colours, each one hand-crafted by Araminta using natural dyes. With brambles foraged from her family garden, avocado skins and stones, alkanet root, and pomegranate. Each colour is completely unique, the result of careful experimentation and an intuitive connection to the natural materials.
The River Dee has been a constant in Araminta’s life, flowing past her childhood home in Aberdeenshire, Scotland and shaping her earliest memories. Walks along its banks, quiet moments spent bird watching, and a deep love for the landscape all feed into the design of the Amber Riverbank tartan. The Amber Riverbank tartan draws directly from these experiences, capturing the beauty and change in colours of the riverbank in autumn.
 Â
Soft orange tones reflect the larch trees turning with the season, lining the riverbanks with a warm, golden hue. Deep orange represents the bracken that carpets the woodland floor, while pine green honour the steadfast Scots pines that stand tall along the water’s edge. Yellow reflects the changing colours of the leaves as autumn takes hold, while navy and black complete the palette, echoing the dark, reflective depths of the River Dee.Â
The colours within the Amber Riverbank tartan were originally developed by Araminta through her extensive knowledge of natural dyeing. Using sanders wood, onion skins, indigo, alkanet root, and dried heather, she created a bespoke palette with intention and precision. Each colour is entirely unique, carefully crafted through a deep understanding of how natural materials behave.Â
With every Amber Riverbank purchase, 5% of profit is donated to the River Dee Trust – an award-winning conservation charity close to Araminta’s heart. The Trust works to safeguard one of Scotland’s most ecologically important rivers, home to Atlantic salmon, otters, freshwater pearl mussels, and rare native plants.
