A Tale of Tartan & Taste - A New Collaboration
We are delighted to announce a new collaboration with PoB Hotels: Looms & Larders – A Tale of Tartan & Taste. This initiative brings together two worlds we deeply admire – the artistry of woven textiles made in Scotland and the creativity of exceptional British cuisine – celebrating craft, heritage, and a shared devotion to authentic experiences.
Our partnership with PoB Hotels builds on years of collaboration. Araminta Campbell has worked closely with the Fife Arms since 2020, one of PoB’s hand-picked hotels, designing both a bespoke tartan and tweed that proudly feature throughout the hotel and in their shop, from cashmere scarves to lambswool throws. Similarly, we created a custom textile design for Fingal, PoB’s luxury floating hotel on Edinburgh’s waterfront, including bespoke bed runners and cushions inspired by the Scottish coast.
As a brand, we love working collaboratively with other companies that fly the flag for British-made, authentic experiences, and we are delighted to partner with PoB Hotels on this campaign.
PoB Hotels is a collection of carefully curated rooms, the finest restaurants and spas, and the most authentic regional experiences across the British Isles. Each hotel is hand-picked, completely unique, and a gateway to new stories and experiences. Looms & Larders builds on this philosophy, guests and clients alike can connect with the artistry behind both fabric and food.
Across PoB’s hotel collection, chefs have taken inspiration from autumn and winter produce, each championing an ingredient tied to their kitchens and communities. These dishes are more than seasonal menus – they reflect the ingenuity and passion of the chefs, and the landscapes and memories that shape their craft.
At Colchester’s Talbooth House & Spa, it is the humble blackberry that takes centre stage. Often foraged by the kitchen team, it is gently poached with vanilla and thyme to accompany butter-roast venison. For Group Executive Chef Andrew Hirst, the dish recalls childhood days of berry-picking and crumble-making – “the sort of flavours that can’t help but bring a smile to your face.”
These connections between place, memory and artistry resonate strongly with our own approach at Araminta Campbell. Just as a chef draws on ingredients tied to their past and their landscape, our tartans are often inspired by Araminta’s childhood growing up in Aberdeenshire – landscapes, colours and textures woven into cloth that carries a story. Both fabric and flavour become vessels of memory, designed to be shared and experienced anew.
Kalindi Juneja, Chief Executive of PoB Hotels
Woven with care, plated with purpose – this collaboration highlights the parallels between threads and ingredients. Just as our tartans capture landscape, heritage, and story within every weave, the chefs at PoB Hotels create dishes that reflect local traditions, seasonal ingredients, and thoughtful craft. Both are acts of storytelling, rooted in place and process.
Two worlds whose authentic stories intertwine in a mission to immerse our guests in exclusive experiences – unfolding not only within the POB facilities, but also offering them the opportunity to experience first-hand the fruits of our shared heritage.
Guests will eventually be able to experience these stories firsthand, from tartan heirloom pieces to curated culinary experiences, offering a tangible connection to craft, nature, and heritage. This is your invitation to slow down, savour the process, and immerse yourself in the art of making – in fabric and flavour alike.
PoB Hotels is a collection of Britain’s finest independent stays – distinctive places to eat, sleep and unwind, each with its own character and sense of place.
Explains Kalindi Juneja, PoB Hotel’s Chief Executive:
“It all began in 1982, when a group of passionate hoteliers joined forces to create an iconic British hotel collection. Led by then-industry titan, Gerald Milsom, they were driven by a shared love of hospitality, a commitment to quality and a desire to create happy moments for every guest. From the very beginning, we have celebrated individuality and championed the independent spirit of our hotels. More than 40 years on, that ethos remains at the heart of everything we do. Today, our collection spans distinctive hotels across the UK and the Channel Islands, each one offering authentic British adventures shaped by its own unique character.”
