Thirty years of celebration. Thirty years of stories. One timeless collection.
In 2025, The Carnegie Club at Skibo Castle marks a remarkable milestone; three decades of tradition, camaraderie, and Highland grandeur. From unforgettable Hogmanays to intimate family dinners by candlelight, every year has woven its own chapter into the Club’s legacy. To commemorate this 30-year journey, Araminta Campbell was commissioned to create something truly special: a bespoke collection of textiles exclusively for members of The Carnegie Club.
Inspired by Skibo’s breathtaking landscape and storied heritage, Araminta and her team have created a one-of-a-kind tartan and tweed, distinct in design, but united in their craftsmanship and sense of place. Together, they form a collection that speaks of time, memory, and belonging.
The Skibo Team
A celebration of heritage, woven into every thread
Rooted in tradition and created for the future, the Skibo tartan was designed by Araminta Campbell to honour the Club’s 30th anniversary. Drawing on the Sett of the original Carnegie tartan, the design pays homage to the Club’s heritage while introducing a new chapter, a tartan unique to its members, never to be repeated.
The colour palette reflects the breathtaking surroundings of Skibo Castle nestled in a secluded corner of the Scottish Highlands. Intertwining the rich green-grey tones of verdant pine forests, the moody reds of winter heather moors, the deep blue of the Dornoch Firth, and the soft blue grey of lichen, which thrives uniquely in this part of Scotland.
Subtle symbolism is woven into the fabric: the green checks contain 95 threads to mark the Club’s founding year, 1995, while 30 threads form the two outer checks, in celebration of its 30th anniversary. This tartan encapsulates the essence of Skibo’s natural beauty and storied past, woven into a design that is both meaningful and enduring.Â
An elegant echo of place and purpose
To accompany the tartan, Araminta designed a bespoke tweed, capturing Skibo’s natural splendour in a more rugged and versatile form. Made to suit both men and women, the tweed balances refinement with resilience, just like the landscape that inspired it.
Reflecting the rugged beauty of Skibo Castle’s estate, the tweed incorporates natural greens incapsulating the Highland landscape, with soft blue accents representing the Dornoch Firth and its tidal bays. The castle itself is echoed in the design, with its soft yellow-pink walls and striking block structure subtly woven into the pattern. The rolling hills, Scots pine forests, and links course tracing the sandy coastline all inspire a design that blends timeless elegance with the natural grandeur of Skibo Castle.
This is not a typical country tweed. It is a textile designed to be lived in, worn in, and passed down, just like the stories that unfold within Skibo’s walls.
True to Araminta Campbell’s ethos, each piece in this exclusive collection was woven in Scottish artisan mills, using time-honoured methods and sustainable practices. These are not just textiles, they are heirlooms. Made with care, rooted in place, and designed to last.
The Skibo Tartan and Carnegie Club Tweed are available exclusively to members of The Carnegie Club. Designed with intention and woven with meaning, they form a beautiful tribute to three decades of unforgettable moments, and to all the memories yet to be made.
