Transforming a baronial style farmhouse into our new flagship atelier is on the outskirts of Edinburgh, we have given the listed 1822 building, with its slated roofs, crenelated parapets, angle turrets and pointed windows a new lease of life.
With spectacular views overlooking The Forth, Duddingston has been woven a new chapter in its story as our luxury handweaving atelier, complete with vintage George Wood hand looms and a showroom containing exquisite one-off pieces and limited-edition collections, all of which have been made in Scotland.
Only 10 minutes from Edinburgh airport , our new home provides an exclusive private shopping experience showcasing the heritage of Scottish textiles.
Private shopping guests can see our artisans at work crafting our renowned handwoven pieces in the weaving room before weaving their way through into the showroom and immersing themselves in the finest Scottish textiles. With one-off pieces made from 100% undyed alpaca, and limited-edition pieces from our interior collection, the atelier personifies everything that makes us what we are today.
Founder and Creative Director, Araminta Birse-Stewart explained, “the atelier created at Duddingston is a celebration of artistry and craftsmanship. I wanted to create a home that celebrates Scottish textiles, and craftsmanship more widely, along with a place that connects guests with Scotland”.
